Firearms Re-Certification
As a requirement for renewal of Security Firearms licensing all licence holders are required to complete a Firearms re-certification training course annually. This Firearms re-certification covers the re-assessment of firearms usage and legal studies to ensure current industry competence of all licence holders. *Please note a booking fee of $200 applies to secure yourself a place on this course. **Booking fee is deducted from total course cost upon full payment. ***Course fees must be paid upon commencement of course

Outline
Successful completion of the Re-certification training course will satisfy the renewal licensing requirements for categories C, E and H licensing. Our program is realistic, industry based and the most practical available. Richard Turner is one of the few weapons instructors in Australia who can offer you firearms tuition based on the latest techniques developed at the Smith & Wesson Academy in the United States, combined with weapons and defensive tactics instruction from Pressure Point Control Tactics Management Systems (PPCT). Smith & Wesson and PPCT are the premier law enforcement and use of force trainers in the USA.

Content
You will be re-assessed on your proficiency with firearms, safety, judgement and knowledge.

Delivery
The course is presented as part of our Security Firearms and Defensive Tactics training course. Training using practical Demonstration, group discussions, defensive techniques and interactive learning techniques. The course is conducted to include individual training techniques to further students understanding of the industry's operations.

Duration
In-class One Day
The second Wednesday of the Security Firearms and Defensive Tactics course is our live fire qualification from 8.30am to 3.30pm at the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia Range, Mt Petrie Rd, Belmont. Students are welcome to attend a law refresher on Thursday following the range day at our Brisbane training venue only.

Employment
Greater demand for the services of trained security personnel is being brought about by growing terrorism fears and the millions of dollars being spent on private security in response to spiraling property crime, civil unrest and public liability concerns. The successful completion of this training course will enable graduates to work in areas as an armed guard such as static guard, mobile patrols, cash in transit and armoured vehicles.

Prerequisites
Students need reasonable numeracy and literacy skills with a sound capacity in spoken English. Additionally, students need to have a current Security Firearms Licence for course enrolment.
