Some criminal convictions within the last 10 years can exclude you from holding a Queensland Licence: Please contact the Office of Fair Trading (the licensing body) on 13 13 04 for details.

Licence fees at the time of publication are $258 for initial combined Security Officer / Crowd Controller licence for one year or $523 for 3 years.

Crimal history check fee of $35.50 is also required at time of licence application.

Private Investigations licence fee is $206 for one year or $415 for three years.

Weapons Licence: Phone your closest police station for licensing.

Domestic Violence Orders in the past 5 years can prevent you from holding a Weapons Licence. New requirements came into effect 1 July 2008.

Traffic Controller licence fee is $76.30 for three years. Paid to Queensland Transport at time of licence application.
